REPORT: MassGOP meeting Thursday April 5th:

The RiNOs and the Romneyites protected their 11% turf.

It was tedious and painful to sit through. Most went to the Kerry Healey open-bar reception beforehand. Seems Muffy had been briefed on who I am - she was gracious and polite - invited me in for a drink. I declined, but managed to ask her a couple of hard questions - then cut her off when she started the beat-around-the-bush tactic - so she gave me as straight a couple of answers as a politically ambitious RiNO can:

- she is decidedly pro-choice

- she has no real clue about our 2nd Amendment, - likes gun control - says 'my husband has lots of guns - he's a big hunter'...[totally no clue]

- she decided to support Eliz Childs 'two years ago' [Childs was STILL a registered Democrat]; took Child's word for it that Beilat wasn't running . . . .

Chairman Robert Maginn displayed total ineptness in running a meeting - became totally confused when faced with the very first motion for a bylaws amendment, and it got worse by the minute - for three-plus hours!

He was totally ungracious - FAILED to fully recognize or welcome the new committee members. There was a cloud of fear and resentment hanging heavily in the too-crowded room.

Several defeated committeemen/women were in the back of the room - muttering about being offered 'honary positions' on committees. They are unwilling to give up that imaginary 11% power.

Wednesday Morning March 7th 2012: The Voters have spoken:

Brian Burke 4806 = 36%   Winner! Congratulations Brian!

Iron Mike      2856 = 21%

Paul Ferro    3159 = 24%

Blank            2618 = 19%   What!?! You couldn't be bothered?!?

Tuesday, March 13th - MassGop website STILL hasn't congratulated the new winners.

8:30 PM - Polls Closed - the counting and the waiting begin. Whatever the outcome I thank one and all who helped. First in line is my wife and youngest son [his first time to vote] who suffered through the campaign schedule, the mood swings, and the fatigue.

To you voters who just trusted me with you votes and our shared future - you have me humbled before you with gratitude. We probably won’t know the final outcome until late Wednesday.
